I had the same issue for ages, but by trying different combo s of drivers, restarting at the right time, compatability mode etc i sorted it.

I have the HP with the pull our remote control though, and i had trouble getting those to work, but all fixed in the end. Not sure if your model is the same.

I ve uploaded the files I used to MediaFire:

This contains the 3 files used to fix the laptop. They re labeled First, Second and Latest. Install in that order, earlier to latest.

1 When you have downloaded all the files, right click Quick Play Drivers - First Properties Compatability

2 Tick the box marked Compatability mode and select Vista Service Pack 2 and tick Run as Administrator Click OK to close the window

3 Install as normal

4 RESTART..

5 Do the same with Quick Play Drivers - Second

6 RESTART..

7 Do the same with Quick Play Web Update - Latest

8 RESTART..

9 In your my programs list there should be a QuckPlay icon, right click, click properties and ensure all of that is set to run in the same compatability

10 You may get warning by Windows that the software you are installing will not work with your laptop, tick Don t Remind Me Again or whatever it is and continue.

That seemed to fix it for me and i d be battling with it for months and months, looking at every website out there.

Since I began using SimplePass, when I right-click over a file, one of the menu items is HP SimplePass Identity Protection - Encrypt File. Every time I try to select that menu option, I get the error message below.

Runtime Error.

Program C: Program Files x86 Hewle

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Hi I believe I have a problem with my start up. I have a HP elitebook folio which automatically updated windows prior to shutdown. At the following boot up, instead of going to the log in screen, the screen turns off, then on again but does not display anything, simply black at a approx 2 second interval.

I ve have tried system diagnosis, hardware seems to be working fine, automatically repairing windows but does not work either.

I m hoping I do not have to perform a system restore unless absolutely necessary as I do not have a back up of my files.

now i would like to instal my Win7. i already mada bootable dvd. I ve tried everything boot mode lagacy, with and without CMS, also secureboot but stil when i hit f9 there is no option boot from optical drive..

My laptop was working a bit fine, the time and clocks was continuously being out of sync, and the wifi connection was lost every 30mins or so i know it wasnt the router or ethernet because my nd didst have any troubles neither did i who my old laptop. However when I went to work then came back yesterday i found that my laptop has spontaneously deleted my o.s win7 and now on a start up screen it tells me that hard drive is not found. I ve tried to install another win7 via disk, bit nothing is working. Can anyone help/explain what has happened to my laptop.

Hi,

I have HP 2000-2134TU Notebook PC and I got Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed on it.

My bluetooth can t able to search for nearby devices nor my phone is listing my PC in the bluetooth search.

The device manager lists bluetooth as Generic Bluetooth Adapter and the other one is Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

In the Drivers and Support under network category I am unable to identify which bluetooth driver to download for my laptop.

Any help would be appreciated.

after my laptop have been reformatted hp connection manager was gone so i have to download it via the internet..but then when im turning my bluetooth on i can t send files..please help..thanks

You can activate Hover Mouse in a couple of ways:

Windows key U opens the Ease of Access Center

If you have not previously opened the Center

then

UNCHECK both the Always read this section aloud and the Always scan this section

Select / Open Make the mouse easier to use

Under section Make it easier to manage windows

CHECK Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse

Commentary

This method should work, and if it does, it will both activate the focus-by-mouse and POP forward the window where you point the mouse. Frankly, I find this result irritating.

More likely, because you are from the Linux world, you are probably seeking the Hover Mouse without Pop action first set in Unix all those years ago and then moved to Linux as the obvious decent method of window control. Yes, I am a bit prejudiced, but only a bit. Smiling.

Hover Mouse no window pop for Windows 8 is easy to set up; it requires a simple Registry hack to set Hover Mouse in place.

Windows key R regedit OK

Once you have the Registry open Export a copy of the registry to your favorite folder

Open Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER Control Panel Mouse

Modify value of REG_WORD ActiveWindowTracking to 0 0000001 1

Open key HKEY_CURRENT_USER Control Panel Desktop

Modify value of REG_BINARY UserPreferencesMask, MSB Most Significant Byte or first value in the string, to be 01

Example:

The FIRST value of the string might be 41, which pops the window forward change the value to 01

The FIRST value might be 9f change the value to 01

OPTIONAL:

0 00000080 128ms

0 000000c8 200ms

Save and exit

Restart / Reboot the system and log in

I just buy a new HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b002sx. No windows insatalled on it. What is the compatible windows the i must install to have all the benefits from it. Also i tried to install windows 7 but it s not working, So is it really that this Lap didn t accept any windows just windows 8 64 bit . .

Any flavor of Windows 8 should work fine, product is designed and tested for windows 8.

Good Luck.

If you don t already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD. Download the ISO from the link below.

Windows 7 64bit

You should use an application such as ImgBurn to correctly burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the notebook and restart to boot from it. Select the Repair option.

Select the Repair your Computer option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.

If the above fails to help, make a note of any error messages you may get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

hp 1000 1035tx Dos machin, i install the Win 7 Os then i try to install the Ubuntu Os dual boot then i can t go to bios steup

when i on the machin coming like this

settings are same for windows 7 and 8. you need to Launch Control Panel from windows metro mode. now In the search box, type uac, and then click Change User Account Control settings.

Do the following:

To turn off UAC, move the slider to the Never notify position, and then click OK. If you re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. You will need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off.

once UAC is disabled. The security setting is already set to Elevate Without Prompting. you should not receive the UAC prompting when installing programs or making changes in Administrative Tools.

all you need to do is, while installing any application, right click on the installer application and click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

I am receiving a message that the biometric authentication service is not functioning properly

HP only supports its business PC s for other than the current Windows operating system, which is why you don t see any W7 drivers.

This policy is not restricted to just HP but some other PC manufacturers have the same policy.

The good news for you is that you can run W7 64 bit on your PC by using the software and drivers from a slightly older model that has the same hardware as yours, that came out when W7 was the current operating system.

You will have a hard time getting W7 32 bit to run, and if you want to install more memory, then you are stuck at 4 GB--the max a 32 bit operating system can address.

If you insist on installing the 32 bit version of W7 due to a software conflict with old software that can only run on a 32 bit system, let me know and I will give you an alternative solution for that which may or may not work.

First, make your set of W8 recovery disks before proceeding to install W7, as more than likely the recovery disks will no longer work.

Then read this article on how to get your notebook to boot from another source and install W7.

Last, all of the W7 64 bit drivers and software from this model should also work on yours.

Dad had problems with his 9700. So he bought a harddrive and we installed Vista from a recovery CD he had made when the computer was new. The Vista won t update from SP1 which is presenting a bunch of other issues. We ve tried downloading the sp2 update and manually installing and that didn t work either. Has anyone heard of this happening. When we reloaded windows we chose the option that recovered to new factory condition off of a recovery disc. Thanks for any help anyone can give. We ve been working on this issue for over a year. Dad s not getting any younger, he s on a pension, can t afford a new one and feels like HP is leaving him high and dry. Thank you.

Brand new hp lap top asked to do update for windows 8 when it restarted it says boot device not found. How do i fix this.

Irecently bought HP Pavillion G6 with a pre installed windows 8 which I dint like it.I downgraded it to windows 7 64 bit and deleted the recovery partition.

I later realized i cant connect my laptop to a projector even pr pressing the start key p.

I cant go back to windows 8 as I dont have any recovery partition neither do i have recovery disks.Second, If i continue using windows 7 then why cant i connect to a projector as with my device manager the following drivers are missing.

I think your problem is not that the computer is not Win8 compatible but that the games themselves are not Windows 8 compatible. You can check the game vendors sites or contact the vendors and ask for the minimum system requirements of the game s you play.

Диск с драйверами в коробку не положили. Каких либо наклеек на нем нет.

В БИОС отражена информация:

Не могу найти драйверы на сайте HP для Windows 7 x64, в связи с тем, что поиск вообще не выдает никакой информации по этой модели ноутбука.

The notebook PC may experience launch buttons that are slow to respond or that do not work as expected. To resolve common problems with the HP Quick Launch Buttons, download and install the updated BIOS and Quick Launch button software from the HP Support Drivers page.

note:

When installing updated BIOS and drivers, you should always install the BIOS first and reboot your system before installing any other software or drivers.
